,Light and color have the power to change our emotions and bring us to a place or time without warning.  A beautiful sunset can bring peace to a hectic day, the bright lights of a stadium may lead you back to the joy of that perfect game, starlight under the sky with a roaring campfire may remind you of a quiet night with that special person in your life and the filtered light of a spring rain may remind you of the potential for growth.

Color plays along with light -- blues and greens can invoke a feeling of being in nature while reds and oranges can spark fire in your soul.

My journey through color and light began with black and white photography and trying to capture what was around me.  Experimenting with blacklight and moving to digital imaging just added another dimension to the journey. 

Venturing into glassblowing and fusing has again expanded the world - in this case creating the platform for which light can play with color.  Transparent and opaque colors each have different qualities that are just fun.    Sending light through these creations can change them in unexpected and mesmerizing ways.  It even creates a wonderful light show on the ceiling! 

The latest adventure is into the world of lichtenbergs.  Introduced to the art form by Dale from http://www.capturedlightning.com/, this expansion of mediums brings me full circle to combine an engineering background with art and design.  Lichtenbergs are created by using high voltage and triggering the material to form unique and beautiful designs.    Given that the electric impulse forms organically, no two lichtenbergs will ever be the same.
